ITVF explores sport and cultural cooperation in Haikou through TEQVOLY™
Mr. Istvan Dobrei, Secretary General of the International Table Volleyball Federation (ITVF), met with the Chairman of the Haikou Tourism Development Group to discuss potential cooperation on future TEQVOLY™ events and broader cultural exchange initiatives. The visit included a detailed inspection of Haikou’s beach venues, evaluating their suitability for international-level TEQVOLY™ tournaments.
As the capital of Hainan Province, Haikou is a vibrant coastal city with a strong focus on tourism, wellness, and international engagement. The discussions centered not only on the feasibility of hosting TEQVOLY™ competitions, but also on building long-term relations between Haikou, China, and Hungary—ITVF’s founding nation—through the shared language of sport and culture.
“Haikou offers an excellent combination of natural beauty, modern facilities, and a deep cultural spirit,” said Mr. Dobrei. “We see tremendous potential for collaboration that goes beyond events. This is about building a bridge between countries and communities through table volleyball.”
The Chairman of the Haikou Tourism Development Group welcomed the dialogue, highlighting the value of hosting international sports events in elevating the city’s global profile and enriching its cultural offerings. Both parties agreed to continue developing a bilateral framework that includes tourism promotion, youth engagement, and cross-cultural activities centered around TEQVOLY™.
With its palm-lined beaches and growing international outlook, Haikou is emerging as a strong candidate for future beach TEQVOLY™ tournaments and cultural partnerships that celebrate sport as a unifying force.
